Well, for reals. . . this time its a movement for
and with Local bands in the Santa Cruz area.
A collaborative process, not limited to any genre, just a passion & desire to promote community through creative development.
Just a passion & desire to work with anyone who loves music and has an idea or two. . .
So far, so good. . . this past week myself and the On The Spot Productions crew had the opportunity to work with an awesome local Reggae band,
Ancestree.
The process itself couldn't have been more amazing, I mean . . . getting in to a show, to film a band that plays music you love, not to mention the band themselves are some of the most mellow, loving, good souled people you'll ever meet. At one point in the night I even turned to a friend saying "It just hit me. . . I just seriously fell in love with filmmaking". As you all know, i've always been a lover of images, but moving images. . . moving art, its a whole different level. And one I am so amped to take on and let grow. . .
Not only are these guys awesome people, but their music is somethin else. . . I won't say much else about them, for I like to think this film speaks for itself . . . Enjoy!
ART
I have to say this video is one I am personally very proud of. When you have a vision and can contextualize it. . . really make it happen, it sort of becomes your baby. Anyone who has done this before can relate . . . and that goes for any form of self expression, any project, any art.
Although it was a short amount of time to execute, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I guess the only element left is, reception. How will people perceive something you've worked so hard on?
Well that I guess, is where you have to let your baby go. . .
If your interested in collaborating. . . I would love to hear about it. . .
